VMware's vCenter Mobile Access, is a
mobile multiplatform solution that everyone was asking for. Now you can manage
your VMware infrastructure from your iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile. I have
documented below steps to deploy vCMA and little demo screenshot how things are
done with an iPAD
Deployments
steps:
1. vCMA comes as virtual appliance
and ovf file can be downloaded from following URL.
2. Copy the downloaded appliance
files in local directory and execute Deploy vCMA appliance in ESX/ESXi host
using vSphere client
3. Browse to the ovf path on local drive.
4. Review the information and follow next steps
5. Accept license agreement
6. Give the name of the Appliance.
7. Select Data store for the
appliance
8. Follow the steps till
the Deployment complete successfully it may take a few mints to complete
deployment.
9. Start the vCMA Virtual Appliance and configure Network settings in VM
Console.
Note:-You can change the
IP address from web link by accessing vCMA appliance using:-https://<vCMA IP Address>:5480
10. Now access vCenter
server using iPad, you need to download the vSphere client app for iPad,
access the vSphere client using iPad.
11. In next step provide
VCetner Server credentials
12. vCenter Screen on iPad
will looks like as below.
You can
see the ESX/ESXi hosts and VM counts
13. You
can access individual ESX/ESXi host
14. You can take following
VM Actions from iPad
15. You can run Ping and Trace route tools from iPad
16. You can view the VM
and ESX host performance from iPad.
